Look to the Lighthouse

Melissa Bogle's talk today got me thinking about lighthouses. I loved her comment about how you never see them grouped together, that they stand alone standing as beacons of safety to the world around them.
Sometimes the storms of life seem to surround us. Waves of discouragement and hardships seem to relentlessly crash against us threatening to swallow us beneath their depths. But, we have not been abandoned. There is hope!

In a talk President Monson gave awhile back he said "Look to the lighthouse of the Lord. There is no fog so dense, no night so dark, no gale so strong, no mariner so lost but what its beacon light can rescue. It calls, "This way to safety; this way to home".

  3. By the way, the guy in the bottom picture survived. He thought the helicopter was there to rescue them instead of taking pictures. When he realized that they were not the rescue helicopter, and that a huge wave had come up, he quickly went back inside and just in time closed the door to the massive wave that pretty much swallowed up the lighthouse. This was off the coast of France.
