Where were you in '72?

Today my friend Robin pulled up to my house just as I was arriving home after shopping. Playing on the car radio was a favorite song from my teenage years, but for the life of me I couldn't remember the name of the group that sang it! Robin couldn't remember either so together we searched the Internet for the mystery band. After several senior moments between the two of us, we discovered that it was Steely Dan and the song was 'Do it Again'. Of course we had to play it on playlist and the two of us started dancing away pretending we were a couple of teenagers. It got me reminiscing about all the fabulous music that I enjoyed in my youth, such as....Chicago - 'Saturday in the Park', Tony Orlando and Dawn - 'Knock three times', Captain and Tenille - 'Muskrat Love', Rod Stewart - 'Maggie May', Bread - 'If '. Do you remember singing Steam's -' Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye'? What were your favorite songs and why? I always liked something that you could dance to, preferably with romantic lyrics. We always had music playing on somebody's radio at the swim meets I went to and the girls on our team would just be singing along like we were part of the Supremes. It seems so long ago, but then a song will come on the radio and suddenly, I'm 17 again!

  4. Hey Jenn,

Please note I have two (count them) songs by the Cure on my playlist! Of course Letter to Elise is one and Just Like Heaven is another. I also have The Tide is High by Blondie, one of your favorites when you were about 3 or 4.
I'm open to other music than just ancient oldies!!!
