Grandma's Swimming Lesson

Talking to Isaac the other day he mentioned that Thursday is his swimming day. Jennifer was going to take him to the YMCA so he could enjoy one of his favorite activities, SWIMMING! Usually he has swim classes but this summer, there wasn't one available to suit his needs. So, Jenn and Aaron take turns with him during open swim time at the club.
Knowing that he wouldn't have to do what a class was doing, I asked if he was going to play a game like Marco Polo with Jenn. He really didn't know what that was because he always has a workout to do when he swims with his teachers. So I explained the basics of the game and waited to see what he thought about that!

Isaac replied "Grandma, when you are in the water, you have to keep swimming or you will sink!!!"

  1. We do "long" laps missy! It ends up being about 6 laps the length of the pool. He calls his strokes funny things, "chocolate and vanilla", "Picking fruit and putting it in the basket" "diggers" "hearts" and so on. We practice each stroke for a lap and then we go have fun. He likes to try to "beat" me to the edge and giggles pretty much the entire workout.

Aaron has yet to take him just so you know!
